UK Finance release guidance on Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)

Bira has joined UK Finance's task force to help prepare retailers for Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)

From the 1st June 2021 retailers trading online will find their customers see increased changes when checking out, if your online checkout for card payments does not meet the new legal requirements for SCA, customers may not be able to buy from you*.

What is Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)?

Strong Customer Authentication is a new set of rules that aims to make online card payments more secure. Your customers’ checkout experience will be different, they will be required to complete an extra security step to complete the purchase.
